Charles Nucciarone, an Italian immigrant from Abruzzi, Italy, established Nucciarone Funeral Home in 1905.  His three sons, Dominick, Primo and Benedict as well as his daughter Mary all followed him into the family business.  The funeral business was originally located in a storefront at 105 Thompson Street.  It was not until the late 1930's when families began to desire funeral wakes to be outside of their homes that The Nucciarone family purchased a townhouse at 177 Sullivan Street.  This address was the birthplace of NYC Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia.  After acquiring the property, the family transformed it into a modern funeral home facility, with individual visitation rooms where wakes were attended by family and friends.  Up until 1977 they proudly served Greenwich Village and the surrounding communities.

Their reputation was built on warmth and kindness as well as a funeral service excellence.  After many years, the family realized they had no heirs to continue the business.  It was in 1977 when the Nucciarone family decided to sell the funeral home to Peter C, DeLuca.  Peter, a third generation funeral director himself, coincidentally had the same Italian heritage, as his family is originally from the same town of Abruzzi, Italy.

Since 1977 Peter C. DeLuca has continued and expanded upon the proud tradition of Nucciarone Funeral Home.  After serving the community for more than ten years, Peter acquired a new facility located at 199 Bleecker Street.  Completely renovated and impeccably cared for , 199 Bleecker Street is where Peter has continued to serve Greenwich Village and the surrounding communities for more than twenty-five years.
